Low-pressure flexible hose
Removal and Installation
CAUTION:
Perform oil return operation before each refrigeration system disassembly.
However, if a large amount
of refrigerant or oil is detected, do not perform oil return operation. Refer to
HA "Perform Oil
Return Operation".
REMOVAL
- Use refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC-134a) to discharge the
refrigerant. Refer to HA "Refrigerant
Cycle".
- Remove air duct (inlet). Refer to EM "Removal and Installation".
- Remove the engine under cover. Refer to EXT "Removal and Installation".
- Remove low-pressure flexible hose nuts and position lower dash insulator
as necessary.
- Remove low-pressure flexible hose bolt and disconnect low-pressure
flexible hose from expansion valve.
CAUTION:
Cap or wrap the joint of the A/C piping and expansion valve with suitable
material such as vinyl
tape to avoid the entry of air.
- Remove low-pressure flexible hose bracket nuts and bracket from the
vehicle.
- Remove low-pressure flexible hose bolt and disconnect low-pressure
flexible hose from the compressor.
CAUTION:
Cap or wrap the joint of the A/C piping and compressor with suitable
material such as vinyl tape to
avoid the entry of air.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from intake manifold. Refer to EM "Exploded
View".
- Remove the low-pressure flexible hose.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
- Do not reuse O-rings.
- Apply A/C oil to the O-ring of the low-pressure flexible hose for
installation.
- After charging the A/C refrigerant, check for leaks. Refer to HA
"Leak Test".
